FM Talk coming to Louisville?

R&R is reporting that WHAS received notice their Michael Savage contract is being canceled while WNDA received a similar notice for Laura Ingraham. They're speculating an FM talker is about to launch. Any ideas on who it would be?

A Cox station is making the switch (see San Antonio 106.7's thread).

Well do you think that Cox would switch 103.1 so soon after becoming Q-country? Classic Country 103.9 seems to be doing better than Q.

My prediction is that the WFIA/WFIA-FM gets switched to a WGTK simulcast. And Savage and Laura are added there.

That would be my guess. Though I'm still of the opinion that, instead of a brief stunt, Cox should have launched news talk on 103.1.

I wouldn't expect it to be Cox. The existing cluster they have is doing a little too well. I tend to think it would either be 93.9, 102.3 or 105.1.

I heard it was Cox as well. The engineers usually know before most everybody else. But they are very good at keeping their mouths shut. Dang engineers, lol.

If that doesn't work, it's on the front page under "April Showers Bring FM Talkers."
So Michael Savage is gone by July 3! WHAS or any radio outlet in Louisville-- will you please bring Joe Elliott back to a nightly schedule? If you listen to the "Sunday Morning Talk Show" you can hear several calllers during each show tell Joe "we miss you at night". Come on radio executives, bring back the program!

If they offer Joe his old position back, he'd be nuts to take it. If the revolving door hits you in the arse once, it will swing around again.....

You are probably correct, but it would be nice to have Joe back. He deserves better than just having a 3.5 hour show once a week. In the aftermath of the John Zigler fiasco, Joe worked both 9 to 12 shifts. Maybe another radio outlet would give a good man an outlet for his loyal audience.

Are we certain that Louisville is getting a FM talker? It's easy to assume that; but I think the article mentioned only San Antonio getting a FM talker and WHAS was losing Savage adn WNDA was losing Laura. Could these shows just be going to an existing AM talker????
