FM Translators + HD?

Allowing an FM translator transmitter to also transmit HD format signals seems like a way to:

1. Allow even more AM stations to benefit from an FM (band) translator (one would use the analog FM signal, the rest would use an HD subchannel).

2. Possibly help popularize HD radio.
