Did you pick up 99.9 KMOO (I've always loved those call letters) from Mineola TX, or was your Part 15 in the way? ;D

KMOO, WACO, and KLUR were all fighting for the Channel. Tropo was so strong i could hear static on my Freq over the the monitor so i shut off the transmitter and did some pretty good DX :)

Same here on Liking those KMOO Calls. My Other Favorite is KKOW ;) Matches the format :p

Tropo is Still Going Strong.

Nice DX, LibertyNT.

I was able to get in on this tropo briefly on Sunday evening here in the Nashville, TN area. Most of it was toward Louisiana and East Texas, including strong Houston area stations for a while. The only thing in received from the DFW area was 107.1 KDXX Benbrook, TX.

A more detailed synopsis, with audio, is posted on the WTFDA forums here: http://www.wtfda.info/showthread.php?t=3872.

nice catches what kind of equipment do you have?

Just A Eton S350DL and a Grundig G6 (Has Excellent separation and reception on FM)

I have a Discone as well but i was using that for the scanner :) ( a RadioShack Pro 2055)
I picked up Shreveport's NOAA station with that.

HAM Bands were good too. was listening to a guy from Austin.

And Good Job KG6VSW! It even has DX right in the calls ;D

I worked a few guys from around Austin on 144 MHz -- some loud. W5GVE (big signal); KC5OLC; KZ5KG; and W5IFS (who was only running 20W). SSB, of course.

The DFW guys were huge. There was one operator who had just 25W and a halo antenna, built from an old aluminum lawn chair.

I'm in metro-Memphis, BTW.
