FM102 SOLD!

Rumblings around Monroe is that FM102.......ahem, excuse me, 101.9 KNOE-FM, has sold to Bradley Wilkinson. Details are sketchy right now, but when I find out some info, I'll pass it along.

What do you think will happen? Will they stay top 40 or change it?

Wow, that really cleared that up. What does Bradley do? Does he own any other stations currently or in the past? Is he a local?

Here's the story from KNOE-TV

KNOE FM Sold

MONROE (TV8) - George Noe, President of Noe Radio Enterprises LLC announced today that the company has entered into an agreement to sell KNOE-FM 101.9 to Radio Monroe LLC headed by Bradley Wilkinson.

[EDIT]

And the 'many aspects of media' they refer to.....

I know Bradley is the former GM of the cluster that is now Opus.

Is Bradley going to attempt to woo Opus or Holiday so he can get a LMA for this KNOE giant? A stand alone FM and the current format are two reasons KNOE had to be sold. Who is Bradley going with? ???

I'm surprised there has not yet been any comment on the application for license assignment:

* The applicant to acquire KNOE-FM is Radio Monroe, LLC, 99% owned by Clay E. Holladay.

* The Asset Purchase agreement is signed by Norman Bradley Wilkenson, listed as a "member" of the purchaser -- presumably the remaining 1% owner.

* The purchase price is listed at $900,000, including all studio and transmission equipment.

* The Asset Purchase agreement lists among "excluded assets" "the right to use the call sign KNOE-AM."

* The previously announced separate sale of KNOE-AM to Holladay Broadcasting of Louisiana, LLC (brother Robert H. Holladay), shows a Petition for Reconsideration filed on 6/14/2007 and the subsequent rescission of the application grant (The grant had been conditioned on the prior cancellation of the license for KMLB(AM), also owned by Bob Holladay and tied to expanded band station KRJO(AM)).

Yeah, can you count NINE stations for the Holladay crew? This makes six FM's and three AM's for these guys. So how far EXACTLY do you have to break the law for the FCC to step in? Do you have to drop a duece on the front steps of their building? Because that's basically what Bob, Clay, and Cynthia Holladay are doing. They are shoving it in the face of the FCC and the other stations in the market are LETTING them get away with it.

And don't let a Radio People flunkie tell you that they're owned by different companies. When you have, now, four companies that ALL use the same office staff, sales staff, production facilities, on-air talent, and office building....that says ONE company to me. I'm all about some healthy competition, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

I had heard about Clay Holladay being behind Bradley, and also heard that George Noe did not know this before the sale, but haven’t confirmed that part.

A stand-alone station would be an uphill climb, but for the price they got it at… Now guess we wait and see where they move the studio to, that will be telling.

Dropping a deuce on the steps at the FCC...CLASSIC!!! Look Opus has nothing to worry about...Nothing is gonna change as far as advertising dollars go other than Bradley is gonna start making some money for KNOE which is a nice change for them...102 has been the red headed step child to TV8 for 40+ yrs...Its just nice that someone is finally gonna try to get it to live up to the Rep. that it should have as one of the most powerful stations in Louisiana. What is going on at KNOE is exciting and the staff are looking forward to the changes...As far as Clay being involved..Clay is not Bob and 102 is still competing with those stations...so please stop being haters and lets have fun!!!

I understand that a Request to be denied has been filed on the sale of KNOE fm, anyone know how to get to the link on the FCC website to read the details?

Thanks,

WOW, Have things changed in the Monroe area since I left.
When I was there and working for Bradley, he and Bob Holladay would not even speak to each other because they hated each other so bad.
Anyone know what relation this Holladay is to Bob ?

Clay H is Bob's brother, don't know how close they are. Rumor has it 102 will end up in the Radio People building, if so at least KNOE AM & FM will be reunited again. (AM had already sold and moved there in case you haven't heard)

John, are you still at UH?

What does UH stand for?

Okay, I'll answer that one since it looks like John is temporarily MIA. It's the University of Houston.
