I heard DLR was incredibly difficult to work with. And that he was abusive to those around him the entire week. Also rumored was a "no Van Halen questions" rule. What the hell else did he think people were going to talk to him about? His Jungle Studs explorations?

I'm a huge David Lee Roth fan. He's always been one of my favorite interviews. But, I just don't see him as a morning guy full-time.

Same here. A novelty vacation fill in on a classic rock station maybe but he is not even close to the age of the demo Infinity needs to get to make ratings.

Heck DLR was on MTV when there was still music being programmed. The first generation of MTV watchers who knew who DLR was are the parents of the people in the demo Infinity needs to capture today. Diamond Dave is to them what Frank Sinatra was to me... the guy my parents listened to.

I can't see it happening.
 
I don't think Howard Stern will have one replacement over all of the stations that curently carry his show.

For one thing, up to two dozen of his current affiliates will be changing formats when Stern leaves (possibly including Stern's flagship WXRK-92.3 New York). Many of Stern's stations have decent ratings only during the morning, and almost-nonexistant numbers after 10 A.M.

For another, some of Stern's current affiliates may decide to replace him with a local morning show.

David Lee Roth may be more appropriate for a classic rock station. And I don't think very many of Stern's affiliates are classic rockers.

He was also boring when he filled in for Sweeney. I think the novelty of being able to call him would wear off. A one-week shot at is something different. Besides, he had no problem whining about Van Halen.

My guess is Infinity is using Abbate and Hutch mornings temporarily on WZLX, then they'd take DLR when it becomes available. WBCN would be the home of the new local morning show. That's going to be a task filling that void. Does this mean Wellington is going to haul in more of his Las Vegas lackeys?

Agreed - he won't last long. I got sick of listening to him after about the third day he was on ZLX. And he does have the bad reputation of being a dink to work with. . .

Not too many "Rockers" can make it as DJs - it's a different art. Alice Cooper has his own show - but it's not that great, as Dee Snider is ok, but can easially wear on the ears as well . . .


What ever happened to Dave's "job" as an EMT in New York?

I think you're right mostly but I doubt that Wellington will have any say in which morning show ;ands at bcn.

Wrong again. Hollander has specifically said in all of his statements that Howard's stations will be divided up by many personalities, there will not be one 'replacement" for all. Do your homework for a change.
