people are just now realizing football is very violent & many
people are injured ----often for llife?
Due to the $$$ involved---- not much may be done about this.

You've answered your own question. That, and the fact that many, many, many people love watching and listening to football despite knowing the sport's dangers. Nothing will change unless the government gets involved -- as the president would apparently like it to in the dispute over the Washington franchise's name -- and that would not be a wise move.
 
They'll come up with ways to prevent some of the serious injuries, through rule adjustments or improving the protective gear the players wear. I see a bigger problem with football and injuries at the local school level. I think that's where some of the more serious injuries occur, some of which can crop up later in life.
