After playing phone tag, this morning I received a call from Footy. Life is good!! He's enjoying Golf, Boating, Relaxing and most of all...not having to answer to an alarm clock at 3-3:30 AM. He's also keeping busy with Heres Help. For those who don't know, Footy is the Director of the Drug Rehab center. This was the premise behind the yearly Wing Dings. All profits went to the center. I asked him what his plans are for his radio future. Let's just say that their is a possibility of Footy returning to the Air Waves, but not at the Y. Believe me, he doesn't miss early morning routine. While I Obviously Don't want to go into the specifics, there are clues in this post as well as others where he may wind up.

All in all, the Footmeister is enjoyin` his vacation. He'll go back behind the mic when he's ready...not a moment before. Just keep your ears peeled.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the Footy update. It is so great to hear that he is living the ideal 'South Central Caribbean American' lifestyle. Does he know that we've been talking about him endlessly on here ever since he got up and retired on us loyal fans of him ? PLEASE stay in touch with our beloved Footy for the rest of us !

I instantly got your subliminal clue, and I hope to be able to hear him on-the-air again in six to ten months or so !

'The Footy Section' is now open for business on WHYI's space on Wikipedia. May of you loyal Footy fans will know that 'The Footy Section' was always that special place at any given venue or arena during a Y-100 sponsoured concert. It was often in the nosebleed section, and if you were trying to figure where all of the rambunctiousness was coming from you had to look no further than 'The Footy Section'. You couldn't pay for a seat there. You had to earn your way there.

On Wikipedia 'The Footy Section' at WHYI is more serious. It's an entire section dedicated to Footy and his long 32-year career at Y-100. I've created the outline for the past 18 years (since 1988), and you can be sure that I'll be adding to each individual portion (Footy incarnation) as time goes on. But I need help from 1974 to 1988. I wasn't living here in South Florida back then. Please feel free to contribute what you know about Footy's first 14 years.
