Guys, got this from a friend!

The Radio Bailout

It's been a rough few months for persons working in the terrestrial side of broadcasting. Thousands have lost their jobs since October, despite having immense talent and a desire to continue their radio careers. Spacial CEO Bryan Payne decided to do something about it and created the Spacial Radio Bailout.

Every Tuesday from February 3 to April 7, 2009, five names will be randomly drawn from registrants who have recently lost their radio broadcast jobs; they will receive the Spacial Radio Bailout. Spacial will donate to each of them one SAM Broadcaster v4, a StreamAds account to run commercials, and a 500-seat 128 kb/s stream to use so they may get back on their feet with an internet radio station.

Spacial will give away 50 Radio Bailouts from February 3 to April 7 to randomly drawn persons who have registered after losing their broadcasting job within the last six months. See the rules.

If you recently lost your professional radio job, register for your own Radio Bailout here.
Each Radio Bailout package is worth over $75,000.

So basically Spacial Audio is using terrestrial broadcaster's recent massacre as a way to pimp SAM Broadcaster and internet radio to track-proven professionals? I might be a tad bit cynical here but that sounds like Spacial is saying "embrace internet radio because you'll never work in the old media again so enjoy this kick start to move you along if you are one of the lucky ones to win our raffle."

Gee thanks guys.

The 500 seat 128kps stream server is very cool but even if you manage to succeed and keep your server lit up with 500 listeners 24/7/365 the cost of ASCAP/BMI royalties will bleed you dry. I would bet those fees will not be included in this "bailout".

How cool is that? Very cool man! Radio in a box. A novel idea.

Well, thanks! I love radio and broadcasting. It has been a passion of mine since childhood. I've always liked the Prophet system. It works excellently. I wonder by comparison how other webcast software is like.
