For Pete's Sake.

Is Pete Sheppard gone from 1510? Last Thu he railed against his old employer, WEEI, on his WUFC 1510 show. He lambasted them also on a youtube video, full of swears, being interviewed apparently by Barstool Sports' El Presidente. Now:

--Sheppard has not been on all week. Right now they have NBC sports radio on. Again.

--NBC 1510 tweet: "Be sure to listen to the all new Brian Kenny Show weekdays noon to three!" The website still lists
Shep & Zook 3-6 pm

--Pete on twitter, 5 hours ago: Lots of good stuff happening kids...I will have more later this afternoon, that's all I can say for now....
(All I've read from his since then on twitter, etc. is him promoting a poker tourney)

On his facebook people are asking why Pete isn't on.
"Pete, are you on vacation or something? Please don't tell me you left this station."--"3:15 pm not in today ?"

Maybe the money ran dry, as it did for Santos (plus they were going sports anyway)

It's unfortunate, but if you're going to make money with an AM today, you have to 1) provide a product that's in demand and 2) isn't available on FM. Alex Langer's Portuguese stations are a great example. A third sports-talk station with a fourth-tier network affiliation on a highly directional station very high on the dial... it speaks for itself.

Fenway, in that case, good thing all this went down this week, instead of last week. Signing with WCAP last week would have been a little embarrassing, with them barely being on the air. Well, more so than it is now.

He just posted that he will be back on the air Monday at his new station, with "better business opportunities." It was a "mutual parting," so I guess he and Pepe are still on good terms. Good sign, he only burns bridges when it is worth it to do so.

well the only sport station left for him is 98.5,could he be the afternoon flash guy on Felger and Mazz? If so that would be great. I can't see it being weei obviously. Maybe Boston herald radio they do mix in sports and he is known for his online shows hurricane radio anyone?

Pete must be monitoring his Facebook page very closely because I posted a comment he apparently didn't like and it was pulled down very quickly. Nothing libelous, just some speculation where he might appear.

If it didn't cost too much money I wonder if they could just pick up Meterperel and Royle from Boston Herald Radio. At least it would be local (3-6 pm). Good promo for the BHR franchise--you like this, check out our other shows.

Still no word of a Celtics radio deal. I wonder how the far flung stations of the C's network (NH, VT etc) feel being left in the lurch.
(Other affiliates included Ent. stations in RI, the Cape etc)

From Pete's twitter: "The Pete Sheppard Show will be back this Monday at my new home 980 WCAP..MON-FRI 11AM-12:30PM...So happy to be joining the team over there!!"

Translation: "So happy to be paying WCAP money to put me on the station; nobody in his or her right mind would HIRE me after all the bridges I've burned".
