Any guesses?

Tama, which at one point in time included 105.3, 105.5, 105.7, and 92.5 in the First Coast area, WTMP A/F in the Tampa Bay area, an AM in the Daytona area, and an FM in Savannah area. Keyword on all these: "area".

I still miss Mix 105, and to a lesser extent, Groovin' Oldies (both on 105.3/5 pre-Tama).

YEPPERS - That is the Tama group. Every station in the group is for sale; non of which are in the Gainesville-Ocala market.

Yes and WJSJ 105.3 is on an 80's music automation format right now and not talk. Does not sound good for the future of where the station could go. The 80's music sounds good though.

1010XL did not keep WJSJ because the signal does not cover the market fully and second the asking price is way too high for a Class A rimshot in Jacskonville. I heard the receiver wants to sell it for at a price that a full power, cover the market station would go for...You can't do that anywhere.

And Gillen couldn't buy it and kill it just to upgrade...he would have make sure he wouldn't cause problems on either first adjcent channels 105.5 in St. Augustine or 105.1 in Orlando. WJSJ is not the only FM service to Fernandina Beach, but if somehow the COL gets changed at some point to another area that does not have any arual service all bets are off for someone ever to try to move the station or kill it.

Here is a good example of one that happened in 2005. When Renda moved 99.9 from Daytona to Jacksonville it could because the COL was Palatka. Palatka had more than one arual service (and still does) so by Renda moving it didn't cause the area to lose service. When the move was complete 99.9's COL became Middleburg. Before that Middleburg did not have arual service thus 99.9 became the area's first arual service and will only be the only one for the foresable future. So if anyone was to buy the station in the future the could not change the COL or move it really.

Also the same thing came up when 92.7 was sold and was moved to Flagler County a few years back, but Clear Channel resolved that issue without any problems. 92.7's COL was Green Cove Springs, Clear Channel had to legally replace the station with another station having a COL as Green Cove Springs as 92.7 was the only station COL to the city. That is why 107.3 went from having a Jacksonville COL to a Green Cove Springs COL.

Hopefully I am clear and not confusing anyone.

Does anyone have any information on 92.1? Seems like the signal is pretty decent when I drive through the market and I don't remember it being that strong when I was programming there. They obviously are making money being the home shopping network of radio, but I've been surprised that nobody has tried to scoop that station up.

The signal dosen't cover the market fully even at 25,000 watts. The power can't be upgraded due to 91.9 in St. Augustine and now with 92.5 eventually going to be a move into Jacksonville they are pretty much going to be stuck being a Macclenny station with the power they have, so basically it wouldn't be a good buy for anyone even at the rate the station is making money with the home shopping products.
