For the next two weeks, it's about "RadioDoc". Plain and simple.

I'll just have to remember to check out the site next week. I've been waiting for Fybush to put something on Milwaukee for over 2 years, and I even was one of those who suggested Milwaukee. Nice pictures of the WOKY towers, the WAUK site, and the Journal Broadcasting building.

Actually Kent was just as big a part if not bigger than me! He and I took the guys around...it was fun! My sites were a mess though. :)

Kent and I need to get our Wisconsin tower site visits going. We keep threatening to go out and get it done...
______________

Most cool!

NICE! One question: it says that HD power is 2 kw +. I thought IBOC had a max power of 1/100 of the analog signal. Confoozed, but otherwise, that's awesome!
So with all that digital equipment and backups, you never have problems and never have an engineer on stand by during weekends? ;-)

It does, when the HD signal goes through the injector, you lose about 90% power (that gets sent out to a reject load that sits outside of Docs building to heat the area, thereby creating a global warming effect LOL)

So the injecotr knocks the HD signal down to 200W.

Yes including theat weird antenna you showed over a year ago up near Ripon.

I also need to take you to the old WHKW site on thd east of of Lake Winnebago! Chilton had at one time a WPR station there.

Well, if you guys want another person mentioned on Scott's site to tag along on a tower trip, let me know! :)

BTW, I was behind the mic again last Saturday as I was interviewed for 15-20 minutes as a part of WMSE's 25 anniversary reunion.

One of the interesting things about The Journal Co.'s experimental labs in the Schroeder Hotel was that they also ran a regular VHF, high-fidelity, "Apex" station in the 30's, W9XAZ. It had a regular schedule of programming, including Marquette University basketball games.

Are they going to post pics of the engineers or just their "equipment"? I hear engineers have long, tall towers! ;-)

Better than that, I have FIVE long tall towers!

Actually, they did take a picture of me standing next to WSSP's old RCA backup transmitter. Don't know if that one will make it in however...
______________

I second that! :)

You guys can come back anytime! Especially now that I've got HD done. Plus, we need to get you guys to the Baraboo site.

(Of course, Kent can drop in sooner!)
______________

And what's up? They didn't show you guys in the 2nd part of the article either! That does it. I want my money back! :)
