They sure do, right in the Heart of Mexico City, probably the last place you would expect to see a Dance station. This is no pirate, or NET ONLY, this is a for real HIGH POWERED licensed FM station www.beat1009.com.mx and as you may have guessed, YES it is more Aggressive than a U.S dance station, it sounds like a European Dance station, but NO, this station comes from our Buritto Making Friends to the south.

LOL@our burrito making friends. Beat is indeed a great Dance station, and as you know we've mentioned it here on this site on a number of occasions in the past.
Beat kind of reminds me of what Slam FM Holland sounded like when they were known as ID&T Radio.

Okay, you talked me into it, I'll listen to them right now :)

Any other stations from Latin America that you strongly recommend? I've noticed Energy 97 in Sao Paolo Brazil has some really interesting specialty shows every night after 8 or 9 PM. House shows, Psychedelic Trance, even good Drum N Bass (and I'm not a big D'n'B fan).

Im not A BIG Drum n Bass fan either, but their is some quality D N B out there, for when im in the mood for it. Another good Latin America Dance station is Beatbox Radio 88.1 in Buenos Ares Argentina, as well as X4-106.7, Or should I say X-quatro-106.7

Thanks for pointing that out midwestclubber, Latin America is Big on Dance and Euro.. . This shouldn't be a surprise... "Spanish Polka" is like... Country music here in the states. Latin American countries are extremely influenced by Europe and the "themotherland" Spain who is huge on Dance.

Love it or hate it, There are More spanish stations here in the U.S. playing Dance, than English stations.

CHRles, do you remember Mexico City's Alfa 91.3 when it was a dance station? I listened to it a LOT back in 1997 (back when Webcasting was new) and even recorded a few songs off the aircheck. I loved the Eurodance they had in rotation!

Of course I remember :) You're right - they were very heavy on Euro at the time. They still play some Euro-Dance hits in rotation, but these days Alfa 91.3 is much more of a pure CHR/Pop station.

It actually used to have a better 20 K stream, or even higher back in the day. I don't know why the station's parent company is using such low bandwith for its group of stations. Talk about being on the cheap!

There was station close to the 96 FM frequency that played Rock during the day. They amazed me at how great their sound was. However, I later thought that I was misunderstanding th DJ when I heard them talk about a Saturday night mix show. The station was so good that I left them on all the time. Then, around 10pm they began what turned out to be the absolute best Dance mix I have ever heard.

Amazing!

I have also heard some really good stuff in Cancun. One night I was glued to the radio listening to their dance mix.

On the other hand, I hated the radio in Spain. Madrid was fine. The rest of the country was realy bad, including Costa Del Sol. You would think a tourist area would have full of party stations.
