DON'T LIKE ALL THE HYPE, deal with it, because....

BIG JAY SORENSEN is comin', and CBSFM's GOT HIM TONIGHT!! (cmon "Record Pigs", turn on, tune in, and CALL IN!! ;D ;D

Okay, so maybe Andrea's posts are a little over-the-top, but I agree with the general sentiment. CBS-FM is a very well-programmed station offering lots of great music (a good amount of which you won't hear anywhere else), and jocks who are upbeat, entertaining, and professional. Of course the station is not going to be what WABC was in the 60s, and the jocks aren't going to be Dan Ingram in his prime. Granted, I'm too young to have experienced that era firsthand, but regardless, I don't think it will do any good to set such elevated expectations for the station. Taken on its own merits, and especially considering today's radio climate, CBS-FM sounds great. And I'm really enjoying Big Jay's show so far.

To each his or her own opinion.... :)

Thanks :) - i seem to be getting the same accusations on SEVERAL boards, so I must be doing SOMETHING right..... ;) - comes with the territory, i suppose....

Talent is in the eye of the beholder. In tonight's show, Big Jay showed lots of excitement and passion for the music he played, and had a fun, upbeat style that kept me engaged. The regular CBS-FM jocks do the same thing every day. Times have changed, and these days being a good jock is more about relating to the listeners and being enthusiastic about the music, and not so much about having a booming voice and an endless array of punchlines.

Yea. Im not too huge a fan of DJs trying to be comics. Alot of times it backfires, what one person finds funny, another finds offensive...and then that adds to a whole new landscape of problems.
