FOR WHAT WILL WRKO's JULIE "THE EXECUTIONER" KAHN GIVE THANKS?

Believe it or not, I agree with Valrulven (there's a first for everything) :))about WRKO needing to be flushed. I have 2 questions for the group...

1. Should the WRKO calls go away? I would say no, a "new" station would need all the help it could get, and the calls do have a lot of heritage.

2. Should it stay talk, or try something else? Competing with WEEI on Sports would be suicide, but what, if any music format would fly on AM in market #11? "Real Oldies"? Sounds like a little too narrow a niche to me. MOYL? It might pull a couple of ratings points, but now try and sell it.

As Joe Franklin would say, "any thoughts, any anecdotes?"

Who could defend the RKO morning show with Scooto?

Who precisely is defending it? Certainly not I.

What did Kahn do to deserve getting the job? What was her experience?

If she's like 99% of all radio station GMs, she probably got her job by doing well in sales. That's the only measure that's worth anything in radio these days.

I have not seen any numbers, but does anyone know where Scooto in the morning is ranked? I heard not in the top 20. But I guess when you show up at 6:05.....

In talk radio's normal target demo (persons 35-64), tenth.

dumber than box of hair: question is how do you know the rank? Where do you get the numbers?
ranked 10th 35-64? what book? in the past year, has the show trended up or down?
it is one thing to throw out numbers, another to back them up..
those numbers are not posted on-line, so if you have them, how did you get them?

>>>In talk radio's normal target demo (persons 35-64), tenth.

NOPE, 25 -- 54 is the demo, dream on

35-64 is a more realistic demo considering the realities of the format, and one that any talk hosts with leverage have their bonuses based on, even if what the ad industry favors is 25-54.

>>>35-64 is a more realistic demo considering the realities of the format

that's your idealism vs. reality: 25 -- 54..

Stations that subscribe to Arbitron have access to all the breakdowns of ratings by any age groups, days, and dayparts. Perhaps he may work for one? There's a lot more available within the industry than what is posted online to the general public, which is only the 12+ overall.

..and once again, you reveal your ignorance of reality. Talk radio's target demo is persons 35-64. Anyone who actually works in radio knows that, which tells me that you don't work in radio.

You can keep saying 25-54 until you're old and gray, but it doesn't change the facts.

her picture is on-line on google. She is hot....if you like men. The fact that you think that shows how those idiots play her.
