I'm european, living in Portugal. Fire season started prior schedule. TV networks ad nauseum repeat live coverages or footage of live flames. My question: in the US is there a regulation "forbiding" the broadcast of live or footage of living flames? I think I read something a few years ago that the intention was to prevent to trigger the pyromaniacs to set fires.

There is no regulation in the United States forbidding live broadcasts of fires.

You must be thinking of the "Beavis and Butthead" incident, where MTV censored episodes featuring them even saying "fire". That censorship, which followed reports of kids setting their homes on fire after watching B&B, was all MTV's, with no pressure from the government (though I have a feeling they were feeling the pressure from morality groups).
