Word on the street is that Forever's Jackson, TN cluster (WTNV/WYNU/WTJS/WLSZ/WLSQ) is on the market for $7.1 million

Pfft! Like I always said; EVERYTHING is for sale! Most people are too! You got the money? Have at it! But I bet it'll be more than 7.1! I know the owners would be happy to name a price for any properties they have. I DON'T know many folks that would be willing to pay what it would take to get them to sell. Everyone has their price! What's your's? ;) You guys are funny!

From the Altoona board on this site:"Lots of rumors floating around that a sale of Forever Broadcasting is imminent. The names being mentioned are Cox Radio and Triad. I was curious to see what, if anything, anybody else is hearing."You'll find some more interesting info on Forever on the Altoona/State College board.

Yeah, I've seen alot of posts regarding Forever. There seems to be very similair situations happening when they buy up stations. One very common thread is the poor way they treat their employees. Seems to me it can't all be wrong if it's happening at their other stations as well.

Greg: You can't be too busy over there. It seems as if all you do is answer posts on this message board! What do you care what people you don't even know, think about you or the operation you work for? Seems like a lot of wasted time and effort to me.Whether or not Forever is for sale is really a mute point. EVERYONE's for sale for the right-price. It just seems a shame to see Clear Channel get out and a three ring circus atmosphere develop since the take over. Now, than may not be happening, but perception is reality.Unfortunatly, this happens quite a bit in smaller markets like Jackson. To be honest, I listen here and there and the place seems to need quite a bit of attention. Who knows what will happen. All of my clients are outside the market.Best of luck,Gary BeginIdentity ProgrammingJackson, TN

I certainly hope things work out over there. This market could use some improvement...Gary

104 WTNV's quality has rapidly declined. This is the worse the station has ever sounded. Obviously Conrad recoginizes that now is the time to bail. His former partners, Shari and Jared, figured that out a few weeks ago. There have been many ownership changes in the Jackson market over the years, but this is the first transition that's resulted in so many people leaving in so short a time. I wish the best of luck to Conrad. He's a true icon in West Tennessee and for him to finally decide to hang it up is big sign that this new company just doesn't care about it's employees or the community. I guess it's all about the benjamins.

please, rather than just saying that the quality has declined... give an example or two... maybe it can be fixed... it is quite possible that we just don't have enough people to monitor 24-7 and we might be missing it.. so at least be constructive in your berating... then it might do some good... any one can sit in the back row and yell "you suck" besides, the only thing that has changed has been the jocks... i guess people on this site just think it is cool to say stations are going downhill...

First let me just say I don't spend any time "worrying" about much of anything! I don't worry about what the rumors are because they're just that! RUMORS. Secondly, I'm busy enough, thanks for your concern, but it's not needed. I have plenty to do. There's more folks coming through the door to help out now so things have lightened up a bit. LOL So I got time to respond to the BS. Next; you're the one that started the thread. So my response to your thread is wasted time? Here's another observation while we're on the subject. Most of the posters having any issues with FOREVER are from just a handful of IP addresses. Conclusion on that fact. It's two or three people making most of the noise. *Note; yes even the so called smashmouth shares an IP with other posters! Oh and it's not form this IP address either. So I'd say they ain't working here, but did at one time. Besides that, there's only a few posters on here that use their actual name. Why? They got something to hide or they're just lying all together. I know that. You know that. They know it too. So nope, I ain't worried about somebody with the "Fox and the Grapes" syndrome at all.

Isn't that what I said? So why start a thread about a mute point? Who has the time for that? Are you THAT busy? ???

I likes the Circus! Monkeys is funny (to quote and old friend). It's usually hectic during ownership changes! Geez man! You of all people should be more than aware of THAT! But I can assure you, it's beginning to settle down. I'm quite confident this place is gonna rock in the coming days, weeks and months. I don't care what the nay sayers post on here about that! ;)

Didn't we meet in the lobby when you were asking Verla about working for her?

Greg:I have no idea who I met in the lobby, you never introduced yourself.Gary

Man...if that really was consultant dude in the lobby...that's priceless.Gregg...I have nothing to hide. There are probably more people from this board that know me as "Meep" than my real name. YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO I AM,DUDE!But to assure you or anyone else that "I AIN'T SKEERED"...I'll share this with you...Paul Hankins (virtually everybody on this board knows this)Now, let's back up some..."Hoppy Gilmore""Ron Collins"There were other names in other markets in various locations across the country, but those are the ones used mostly in these here parts."Hoppy" at Froggy"Ron Collins" at WZDQ Q-102 (back in the day)During several "non-radio" stints, I did some part-time work for friends such as Jim Sykes at "Power 92" and even Maxie at SL100. Until my last "out" of radio, I always did at least p/t somewhere because of the jones.I've spent a million hours in production rooms and another million in control rooms.Sat in the program director's chair many a time, and sat across from some of the best programmers in this country. Edited production with tape and grease pencils and Rolands and Cool edit pro. Cart machines (before ter. tones AND after), to Maestro and more.Sold ads, wrote ads, music calls, hired, fired, smoked and toked...and most of all HAD A FRIGGIN' BLAST for way over 20 years. Now, though, I have to send kids to college, so after my furlough from Entercom...I decided to try to make money. If you like...we'll all have a huge party someday here at the "Casa De Meep"...we'll swim in the pool (not the above ground kind), ride in my golfcart, play a few holes at "The Club" go out for steak and drink a few "Lowenbraus"Don't worry my radio bretheren...I'll buy the Lowenbraus!!! (only they'll be Budlights)I'm just an old washed-up radio dude who lives vicariously through all you folks still doing what I once loved.I guess I still do to a certain degree...but, I've managed to rid myself of that "jones" that always dragged me back.Anyway...I know it was another long post...but now I never want to hear any of you talk about "Meep" and "hidden identities" or "anonymous" again.Of all the truths in this post...remember this one..I AIN'T SKEERED for any of you to know who I am.That was never the reason for "Meep".I just happen to be excellent at making the RoadRunner sound.Party on!-Meep!

I knew who you was bro. You'd be exception to my remark my friend. I think most folks know who you are as you've posted your identity on here before. Gary; I shook your hand and told you my name with Verla and Jared Mims standing right there. We were on our way out to lunch. You got in to a silver car with another person driving. ;) Thanks for remembering me. LOL

Greg: You must make a hell of an impression cause I don't remember that. I remember speaking with Verla. jared had already left Forever by then, so how could he have been there? LOL...oh well...doesn't matter. I'm taking this week off. Just thought I'd troll the boards some.Have a good week.Gary

I have a face for radio Gary! :p Did you not come up here in a silver car? I think it was a Ford Taurus. Wasn't that you? And someone drove you up here right?

Funny Stuff...maybe this guy's just bitter that Forever wanted someone better. I wonder who these so called clients are?? Are there any? Guess business could be better or he would not be looking for a gig.

Let's see...they've driven off all the good folks and replaced them with greenhorns who work cheap.
