Forget Easy flipping, it's the station down the hall! It's a Coasting Christmas!

I noticed that. Are they still using the regular jocks? (I didn't listen long enough to find out). If not, might be format flipping time. Light FM (101.5) seems to have flipped to Christmas also.

Seems that Coast is still using the regular jocks (heard Those Two Girls in the Morning earlier today), so probably just a seasonal flip. :)

More than likely just a seasonal flip. I bet the reason Easy didn't flip was to put Easy on the map over Lite while Coast is playing all Christmas. Lite didn't flip 100% they are playing Christmas songs in between their playlist regulars.

Wasn't 2011 the first time ever that a Miami-area station had ever gone all-Christmas??
No way.
For a few years, 101.5 kept to format on the main channel but lit up an all Christmas HD-2 channel.
Does anyone remember the "Christmas in..." promo that some local pop station ran in the middle of a year?
It happened a long, long time ago.
More recently, someone somewhere tried an "All Christmas, all year" format which only lasted half way from one Christmas to the next.

All-Christmas in Miami goes back to around 2002, maybe earlier.

I haven't really kept track, but the old Mega 103.5 (now SHE) had all-Christmas. Even the old Love 94 had a smooth-jazz-themed Christmas format (2003?). I have audio of both, but as usual, I misplaced them.

Yes, Mega 103.5 flipped to Christmas in 2002. I think it started the day after Thanksgiving and went through Christmas Day. And they didn't use the regular jocks, so I figured something was up. Then the day after Christmas, they went back to the regular format with the regular jocks (for the most part), so I figured it was a seasonal thing. Day after New Years, I got in the car to go to work and was greeted with hip-hop music :( So much for seasonal.
Never thought almost 10 years later that I would be listening to 103.5 again! :)

I just heard the regular Coast stuff this morning....no Christmas.

apparently someone commented on this posting so it appears as if it's recent.....look at the date, I started this post last year when the Coast did flip.

My bad!

Miami not even Halloween and a station has gone all Christmas? Unless they're flipping format, that's insane. And I'm surprised Lite would react at all and mix in Christmas music to counter this.

I understand Mid November flips by stations that are in a diary market. But in the PPM world with the entire month of December being rated, this is definitely unnecessary.

This was a post from last year....The Coast is still playing their mix of the same 20 songs everyday
