Giving it another stab Chris Dipaolo is changing 88.1 to Full-Time K-LOVE Christain Contemporary.

K-Love will be operating the station out of California with an enginering rack of equipment in Westerly and not much of a studio.

The call letters are being changed to what I'm not sure of and what you hear on 88.1 in Westerly will be heard on 96.9 down there. 96.9's call letters are being changed from WCTD-LP to WBLQ-LP.

This is a 3 year deal under contract.Programming begins on Friday. All programming will originate out of California and Chris will not be allowed to tinker with it.

A seemingly odd choice. 96.9 is 10 watts right?

Was 88.1 still running the WAY-FM stuff, or did that end a while ago? K-LOVE is very similar, if better produced.

Also, what will happen to the Providence Bruins games that were going to be on 88.1? I can't imagine that K-LOVE would allow them to air.

WCTD is a a LP station. LP stations have to have original programming. It is also 100 watts in ASHAWAY.

K-Love is also updating the transitter and installing all brand new equipment needed to air thier programming as part of deal.

I was going to ask the same thing. What about the station airing the Providence Bruins games? Also, what about the station's broadcasts of Westerly High School sports? I know the station did football games, but I'm not sure if they did basketball, baseball, or softball games.
