Format change eminent at WSB-FM/B98.5FM?

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a funny feeling something drastic is about to happen over at WSB-FM/B98.5FM.

This week, Alpha from the Kelly and Alpha show is on vacation, Jordan Graye is on vacation. And as of tomorrow, Kelly McCoy is on vacation.

And a funny entry poped up in the last songs played feature on their website. I was not listening, but it says that at 2:50 PM, Kelly Clarkson's "Miss Independent" played. (This may just be a crossed wire, but it looks suspicious).

By this time next week, after the 4th of July holiday, I am wondering if WSB-FM will have a brand new format, and if so, most likely adult hits or hot AC.

All of this looks suspicious to me, to have most of your airstaff out on vacation at the same time (3 DJ's out of 5).

It is important to note that B98.5 beat WLTM/94.9 Lite FM in the ratings in Phase 1 of Spring. Usually the big money contest works ratings-wise. But I am wondering if monatary things are starting to happen at the station. (Most overnights from 12AM-5AM the station can go often with no commercials, just PSA's). Not to mention just 300 songs are on the playlist that change once a year are probably starting to take a toll.

I may just be paranoid, but when you put 2 and 2 together, it looks funny. I hope nothing is happening to the station of 20 years, and I would feel bad if anybody is let go.

It's between ratings periods, and it's the 4th of July. I think you can relax.

Yeah, most stations' jock lounges are ghost towns the week after the spring/fall book (the important ones).

Update: Kelly McCoy is on the air now. I thought he said that he was going on vacation as of today. He most likely ment that he was going on vacation next week. I had a hard time understanding because of my cheaply assembled $40 clock radio that you have to move the power cord around to get good reception.

But that does not stop me from believing that a format change is coming very soon. I have had that feeling since 2001, when Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" and `N Sync's "Bye, Bye, Bye" was on their playlist that the station was aiming to be a hot AC. But then again, I looked around at other Cox AC playlists of today, and they more weirder than B98.5's. I have a funny feeling that the reason that the playlist is not changing much is because they are going to switch formats soon. It is just a matter of when.
 
I think this is one of VERY few times of year when the major markets are not rated. I know that at least one nationally syndicated host (George Noory of Coast to Coast AM) is off the air this week as well.

Hey, Some people dont know these things! Ease up!! I dont know why they would change formats anyway, Dont like them anymore, but they have had the market there for awhile,
