There are several things you could read into the stunting. One of the liners have said that the new format "will jump out of the shoot" on Friday. Another lists the first names of "legendary" country singers -- Dolly, George, Willie, Kenny, etc. -- and that they all "will have something in common on Friday." Country was the last music format for the old KLIF before it went talk in the mid-1980s. So, one could hypothesize classic country if you just focused on those.
Looking at it solely from where the signal is hottest, any form of country doesn't make as much sense as targeting Hispanic or African-American listeners. I don't have a zipcode map handy showing ethnic breakouts but the 93.3 stick is right in the heart of a high-density Hispanic and non-white area of the market.
If I were bankrolling it, Black Gospel would be the obvious choice.
OTOH, if Cumulus does go CHR, it had better be very urban and Latino friendly. Strictly from standpoint of signal and signal /only/, Triple A may have been the worst possible format choice, IMHO.
