Random thoughts and observations...
1. Emma kelly is Kellie's daughter (IIRC), so I would guess that bath time is likely them talking about raising a child. And while there are some young mothers, I could see where a 15 or 17 year old wouldn't really be into parenting talk.
2. For all of you that said you won't be listening, would you listen to Kiss? If the answer is no, do you think they CARE that you're not going to listen? Bucwhyl and Salemjedi have pointed out repeatedly (and correctly) that this board skews white, and I'd guess it skews male and older. They probably care a lot more about those 15 and 17 year old girls, and their older sisters, than a bunch of message-board men...
3. Props to whoever pointed out (Might be over on the Observer blog) that stategically if this weakens Kiss, even a little, that helps KPLX and KTCK. I've never understood why some companies insist on competing with themselves, If KPLX leans 30-40 year old women, KDBN leans to 20-30 year old women, KYCK appears to 30-40 year old men and KLIF appeals to 50 year old men, they don't quite compete with themselves AS MUCH. (So yes, there may be some overlap, but not as much as some sister stations have)
4. Are some of the same people complaining about this station also the same ones who want to see more direct competition, like "back in the good old days"...If so, hypocritical at all to want one thing, then when you get it complaining about it?
5. FOr those that think it flipped too early, remember that with PPM's, we see how a station is doing EVERY WEEK. I've been told that Quality rock dropped a lot of listeners right away after they flipped, and kept shedding listeners every week since. If you're on a 12-16 week downward spiral, when would you pull out? How long do you give a failing show/station? Compare their 4 months to Ben and Skin getting what, about 6 months on the Fan? That station switched mid-december IIRC, and they've been gone a couple of months- Are we seeing a much shorter "leash" with PPM?
6. I missed the flip, but a couple of people said it was a produced couple of minute long intro- compare that to Quality Rock's debut, where thet started off with nothing but the regular guys from Atlanta and music at 9- quite the difference in 4 months in presentation...
7. I know some people at 'the mothership'. They say a program director is already there, John Something from Denver ( I think)
