We are coming up on 94.5's annual format change. Anyone want to wager a guess? Mine is "94.5 The Chooch, Nothing But Sounds of the Railroad""

That's all I can muster right now - It hurts to even waste power on it anymore..... Ed - just go back to Syracuse. Albany has changed and you weren't here to change with it. Let it go. I'm sure there is a dog somewhere waiting to get smacked....
 
It really isn't a bad sounding Rock station these days, although I would never even consider listening to JR.
They finally have decent signal coverage too.... I don't understand why they are doing so badly!

All in direct or indirect competition. Which is why it' so stupid to jump into the Albany market with ANOTHER rock station. It's like adding another pizza place to the area. Sure, you'll get a couple that are ok...otherwise they're all pretty much the same...

Time for someone to step up to the plate and deliver a real shocker to an otherwise ho-hum radio market!!!
 
WEQX is nearby in Vermont. Why do people keep counting a fringe station as in market?

Add WFNX to the list while you're at it because you can kinda get it in on some select mountains. And online at www.wfnx.com

Still...they were performing better in the past as a stand alone station on the low powered 94.5. Now they have full coverage of the metro, with the addition of 93.7 and the ratings are tanking. That is what I find puzzling....

What is more puzzling is how the great programmers in Syracuse cannot fix it.
Maybe they are not as competent as they think. Maybe a career change is in order......
 
I am only posting this to keep this topic "top of mind". I am a true radio pro. Okay, I will change it up. Lets say the format does not change, and they actually stick with it for more than a year. Is there a future for a station that can't break a 2?
 
Jacques. I think it's time to put a bullet in it. I mean survivng on a 2 share overall is one thing, but when it breaks down accross the board it's hit and miss from one demo to the next; which most stations are - granted. But as long as they keep limping along in the 25-54 male demo, Ed thinks he's causing damage to others, instead of actually trying to do something with his sticks. Pessimism in reverse? The glass is half full - but nobody cares except Ed.
