Format changes at 1540 & 1570 in Youngstown-Warren

Per the operator of 1540/1570 in Warren...format modifications to his stations become effective Monday:

1540, licensed to Niles returns to classic country...The Farm 1540.

1570, Warren...drops any talk programming to be a fulltime adult standards/pop oldies. Louie Free doing mornings 8am-noon, syndicated Charlie Tuna noon-5pm. Not sure of personalities 5pm-8am, but they will carry the games of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers...the short-season team that's affillated with the Cleveland Indians.

Gotta assume 1570 will also do high school football games...but didn't get confirmation of that.

Liners are already running on the stations...per Jim. I think those changes make sense for that market. FYI.

Should never have gone away from the Country on 1540, IMO..I hope it stays on for awhile and is given a chance to build an audience..Great sounding stations on both ends..

Got some details mixed up...but, got them per Jim D...must've missunderstood. Sorry.

Agreed about 1540's best chance is with classic country. Perfect format for them. Wish both stations all the best!

You guys are 100% right. Should have never allowed 1540 to be changed. But that's what happens when you believe BS told to you.

Couldn't agree more. Hope it can 'stick' this time.

Didn't realize it, but the old "1540, The Farm" website is still in use.
