Format clock change on the Howie Carr Show

Have you guys noticed that the Howie Carr Show no longer has a hard break at :30 or so? Now it "sweeps" the half hour and stops down at :40 or so. What's the thinking behind this move, especially on a show that's syndicated? Don't news/talk listeners expect headlines on the half-hour?
