Washington Format flip incoming at KRAO 102.5 Colfax

Went all-Christmas in November. Was still Christmas music on 12/27 when I drove home to Idaho from visiting family in central WA. Now running a countdown loop. "Something BIG is coming".

My guess? Classic Rock as "Big 102.5". KQZB already covers the Classic Hits realm of things.

It's now KRPL, Classic Hits.

I think in a small market like Moscow/Pullman, those calls still mean something. Good move on their part.
I wonder what those KRPL call letters will mean -- yes, KRPL was a legacy Top 40 station in the market, but it's been almost 40 years since KRPL existed as a Top 40 station. That means that anyone who was older than 14 at the time that the Top 40 format moved to FM as Z-Fun is now outside the target demographic.

Yeah, I'm sure that if I lived in Pullman I'd be listening to the new KRPL...but it's not like advertisers seem all that interested in whether people my age are listening.
