Format Flip Rumors

Do you see any station in San Francisco flipping formats soon?
My guess would be KKSF now that got Whoopi Goldberg as their
morning jock?

Why would KKSF flip? they're doing quite well. Whoopi is there because Clear Channel owns her show and needed to put it on one of their SF stations; KKSF seemed the most compatible. Whether they made the right choice is another question.

Now why would cc flip KKSF? They have good music.

They are not changing formats, They did dump Kim Dooley the AM Jock. Woopies show is syndicated by Premiere which is owned by CC. I have heard from insiders that Woopies show will be delivered as 4 "Bits" per hour. Then the Station will have an operator or perhaps the morning news reader drop the "Bits" in around the KKSF music. I'm sure somone in NYC is Digitally gluing the KKSF call letters on the end of bits so it sounds local ;). She has also been added to a couple of othe CC stations...Same thing Her Bits Your Format. For CC they save a salary of a jock...ammortize Woopies cost over several radio station, and only have to pay a board op or ask a Newsperson to add one more duty to their job for the same money.

Yes... as they say at Clear Channel...Less is More, of course what they meen is Less people for Less pay.

God, I'm glad I don't work there anymore. You have it nailed, Production Boy...
