Format Flip @ The Jersey Shore?

I'm a big fan of WHTG-AM. This is a very well done station and I'm happy to see that their transmitter site has been so well maiintained. I always tune in when I'm in the area. I'd add a little reverb to it to give it that bigger than life kind of sound that we gew up with with New York and Philly Top 40 radio. But then, on my tombstone it will probably say, "More compression. Put some reverb on it."

Don Tandler deserves accolades for what he has done with 1410 - Press really should stream the thing and do some promotions just to keep up with the times. Don's countdown shows are also a treat every weekend.

P.S: WOBM-AM has reverb. Now if someone would fire up C-QUAM on 1310 & 1160, I'd be happy. And as far as compression goes....I have my iPod running thru the Omnia A/X plugin. So your not alone Pete with the love o' processing!

As far as possible format changes go...

Should happen:

WHTG/WBBO: Return of Alternative (as G Rock or FM 106.3)
WJRZ: Classic Hits/Oldies
WCHR: Either Hot Talk or News/Talk, Sports, Active Rock, or Shore Alternative
WMGM: Move WOND to 103.7, and put an Adult Standards/Easy Listening format on 1400/1580

You may be on the mark with the third "should happen". With WCHR now having a sportstalk/rock shift form 7-10 as well as
local high school sporting events, Monmouth University football, and the Jets games it might jusst happen...Millenium must be testing the waters to see if sports will work on the FM side on the Jersy SHore. IMO, they should have just flipped Fox Sports Radio from 1310 straight to 105.7.

H ISam,

Are you the son of the legendary radio personality, Hy Lit? I believe he worked at WIBG for years and I listened to him on the radio and watched him on WKBS-TV 48.

He was great and one of the reasons I was glad to hear WIBG is back. Sadly the personalities of the past are gone but the jingles help me remember.

A few format notes that i was thinking of.First of all the hawk, something must be up why put sports at night without trying something? next wobm am its good to see some updated music and hopefully the station will work better. Now the big switch from facebook pages it looks like hit 106 fans are split 50/50 on the return of b98.5. meanwhile thunder fans are exited about the increased signal. I the signal increase will be good for the thunder brand.

Thunder will get huge support for the Central Jersey crowd. Not just Monmouth, but Middlesex, part of Somerset, and Union Counties as well as 2 out of the 5 boroughs of NYC.
