Format Flip: WOFM Wausau Rhythmic CHR>Classic Hits/Hot AC

Here's a format flip from this morning at 12AM.

94.7 WOFM "Wild 94-7" (Rhythmic CHR) to Classic Hits/Hot AC "94-7 The Peak"

Wild was a short lived format. They only switched WOFM from Oldies to Rhythmic CHR in October. Guess it didn't bill well enough or something. In mid February sister Rhythmic CHR 99.7 WLYD "Wild 99-7" in Green Bay switched to the same format as "99-7 The Bay" after 4 years of rhythmic CHR.

aircheck is about 80min long. Sorry about the lower quality.

This is the new format for sure. Midwest Communications put it on in 3 markets. Green Bay (WLYD), Appleton (Their AC WROE) and in Duluth on their AC station there. Wild 94.7 got good ratings, but like in Green Bay advertisers weren't too interested so they changed it to a more advertiser friendly format. Wild 94.7 only had 1 break per hour which lasted for maybe 1-2 commercials through its 4 months on the air.
______________

Sounds like all of the liners except for the one at the top of the hour are done locally. Clearly a AAA/Drive like approach. Guess it fits the format. The music variety is pretty decent.

I heard WROE a few weeks ago and they have no liners at all. Just DJs/VTs.

Have yet to hear the Green Bay one yet. But once DX season starts I'll be sure to post an aircheck.
______________
