Format Flips after Christmas?

Agreed. In my eyes Jamz is the only true Urban station, 98.1 is a pathetic excuse for a Rhythmic CHR that seems pretty white to me, in target at least. A total Urban station WOULD work and would hurt 107.3 and 98.1. I can't believe 107 has gone so long unchallenged with the numbers they pull. The Charlotte stations should not be any barrier to another Urban station (WPEG's signal struggles past Spartanburg)....

Then if reaching your core urban market is the concern, 96.7 should flip urban, but not another class C stick.

I will agree with that. A signal like or comparable to 96.7's would be a good signal for Urban in the market, given that a TON of 93.3 covers areas that just do not have the audience and would be a waste of signal. I find the situation with 93.3 The Planet's outdated/poor sound interesting, as Entercom seems to be a rock-friendly company, looking at their website.

I just hope to God (pun not intended) that 96.7 is put out of its misery in 2011. There are so many other formats that can be run just as cheaply that are not so oversaturated. I classify it in its current state with the defunct Walk and female talk format at 106.3.

I was under the impression that the fidelity of 93.3 would improve once they moved to Hogback. Apparently, I was wrong.

Maybe it's a money issue? That could be fixed by dumping The Rise Guys....and the PD.

I was expecting it to be fixed 5 years ago when they bought them out from Barnstable. I don't really understand why they have these problems with the audio that none of the other stations in the market have. TRG sound like a poor quality online stream. 93.3, in my opinion, is at the bottom of Entercom's priorities in this market...probably the lowest biller.

The PD is apparently a classic rock PD but not active. The station needs a complete overhaul to ever be an important player in the market again if they want to remain rock. I don't bet on it ever happening. JMO
