Do you see any format flips on the horizon in Philly. I think other than 106.1 the only other station that i remember getting a format flip in Philly was 104.5 in 2007
There is no other viable format for a 50 kw AM... even if it has rather limited coverage today.an old friend was postured the question of 1210 AM. LOL
Oh come on. There’s standards. Polka. Real oldies. Hungarian folk songs. All monk chants. We hear about how viable those underrepresented formats are all the time. Just takes someone brave to try one. There is no other viable format for a 50 kw AM... even if it has rather limited coverage today.
It’s better to talk about this comedy show, than the comedy show expected at Lincoln Financial Field, Sundays this fallIs it really time to start the “who’s flipping” comedy show again?
The only station I could POSSIBLY... very remotely... see flipping might be WEMG 1310/105.7. They entered bankruptcy recently, even though ratings wise they're doing ok versus WHAT 1340/99.9 and WUMR 106.1. Could the station be sold to a new operator? Could they come out of bankruptcy? Who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.Do you see any format flips on the horizon in Philly. It will be around for a while. They just hired a PD, and have the strength of a national buying strategy as they build the audience. But WUMR haven't had a chance to fail or not fail, so it's not fair to compare them at this point.
96.5 has to be the weakest station in the Audacy cluster by a wide marginI still think 96.5 will flip sometime soon. Might be more of an evolution than an outright flip. For example, I could see them going Rhythmic AC or a mostly Rhythmic AC direction. Conversely, maybe something much more dramatic such as a flip to Country or to Classic Rock?
A second country station in Philadelphia? How much of an audience do you think it would be able to peel off from WXTU?I still think 96.5 will flip sometime soon.
