Format idea: Hot AC meets AAA?

Yes, correct Cume. As I said there is still a large market there for older demos. True or not, Rush claims 18 to 20 million listeners a week. You can solicit a lot of people for gold coins, adult scooters, and the coming economic crash (according to the ads).

FNC had 1.934 million viewers on average between 8 PM and 11 PM (March 2 – 8 2015)

Numbers are bigger for individual shows.

The average viewers figure for a TV show is for one show on one day. That is the rough equivalent of average quarter hour (AQH) audience in radio. Fox likely cumes in the tens of millions.

Rush no longer cumes anywhere near 18 million. I doubt it is even half that today, with the huge audience erosion he has suffered in the last few years. And even if he cumes 9 million, the average quarter hour audience is likely going to be less than 1 million. Nobody listens for all three hours five days a week.

For argument's sake, let's say Rush's AQH audience is a full 1,000,000. That is much less than even the lower rated individual Fox News shows.

And for an advertiser, the AQH audience is the key... how many listeners hear each commercial. To reach all the cume, you'd have to run 30 to 40 spots a week, one every half hour or even more often. Not productive.

Your both right. I said radio is dying, not dead.

Should be: 'You're both right" As in: You are both right.. "Your fly is open" is the correct use of the word.

However if you own a AM station that isn't making much money, and somebody wants to buy it, sell it.

Thank you Mr. Generalization. Have you owned and operated an AM station in the last ten years? Better yet, have you tried to sell one without giving it away? If you had, you wouldn't be making that comment.

You are both right about the Your. Horrible really. Should have been "Your fly is open, and you're drunk again." Sorry, not usually one to make that mistake.

You are also right about owning and operating an AM station. I should have said losing money. If you have an AM station that is losing money, and you are not a recent powerball winner, give it away.

For the record. I'm dyslexic. In the business world (radio) it is sometimes difficult, and I have to go back and explain any errors. I usually get the reply: How can you be in this business, and be in radio. My reply is: Many great singers (Cher for example), authors, and business people are. Sometimes I catch myself editing my post several times on this board for writing the same word twice, leaving a word out. Or posting the wrong stat. Or making the mistake such as you're or your. I would take it as a grain of slat :)

typo, missing word, etc. all of that happens. It is the contribution to the subject that matters. I make mistakes in some of my posts too. I take it all with a grain of slat too!
