Format question!

When I'm listening to the radio, I hear some of the same songs on separate stations. I was wondering if those songs hit you in a different way seeing that there on a different format......

Example: When I hear Sweet Home Alabama on KIOL or KKRW, it hits me in a bad way, but when I hear it on KLDE, it's very pleasing. Maybe because it reminds me of when I was a kid and there playing all the other old pop hits. Plus, maybe it's because it's the radio edited which was the version that was in my 45 collection. It was the same today...I heard Money by Pink Floyd on KLDE and I didn't flip the station. Maybe I just need therapy in my older age.

I say bring on K-Roger FM. I love the music at the grocery store. I'm always singing under my breath. I'm suprised I haven't grabbed a ketchup bottle and used it as a microphone. CONCERT ON AISLE ONE IN PRODUCE!

I think Houston is ready for Jack....but there has to be some on air talent!

I had the same thing happen recently...

I heard Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company on the Point, and listened to the whole song. If I heard this on the Arrow, I would probably change the station.

That's a very interesting observation. Makes since though. When KLDE plays those songs, it's probably not every hour like KIOL and they are surrounded by their contemporaries.

Would Clear Channel ever take on a JACK in Houston? Flipping Mix to that wouldn't be too hard. But do CC stations do JACK? I thought that was only Infinity?

I think it has someting to do with context.
There have been songs in the past that I hated until I heard them in a club mixed in with things I actually liked.
Afterwards, I liked the song even on it's own.
Little bit of a different scenario, but sort of the same concept.
It can work the same way with watching a video for a song rather than just hearing it.
