Format Wheel continues spinning at WFML

According to an ad placed in the Washington Times-Herald, today was the first day for Max 96.7. Max is bringing "variety hits" to the citizens of Vincennes. Via one of the satellite nets, I'm guessing Jones.

Third format since 2006. Hot Country (Today's Best Country/ABC Radio Net), Classic Country (True Country/Jones), Max (Unknown Provider)

I'm guessing this means layoffs at DLC media. Former morning man Brad Deetz will probably stick around in his capacity as DLC Media GM, but I wouldn't be so sure about the other staffers.

I thought Crooks in radio couldn't fail?

What a shame! I was in the broadcast program at VU in 1990 and 91, and worked at WFML when it was live and staffed by a mix of students and professionals. The station sounded great and had plenty of listeners in the area. In 92, I happened to visit campus the morning they switched to the bird. While the steady income of the LMA is nice for VU, it doesn't seem to be of much benefit to students.

Word is that some of the VU journalism students handle some of the news duties ... but I hear ya Neil.

I don't know Mister Crooks, but anyone who fought to get the state of Indiana on Central Time is...I'll stop there. Never can tell when he might buy one of my client stations.
