Format

What format does everyone one run??? I have been thinking
about bring my Part 15 FM station back on the air.

When I was broadcasting before, my format was Soft Rock mixed
with Country from the 70's 80's 90's and now. Just music and
ID's with No DJ's. I know I has a few listeners but not
sure how many. I ran a message to contact me if they like the
station but now one contacted me. I has told several people
around my town about it and there was one person that listened
to it regularly.

My town is located 45 miles south of the nearest Licensed radio
station. That station does not even get into town do to the town
being in a valey. The town has a population of about 1,400 and
is the county seat.

One of my ideas is to bring that station back, Make is a AC and
County station, with less of the softer AC. Then maybe start
another part 15 AM station for Oldies. Just one idea.

I would love to broadcast away football games for the Local
High School team. Any ideas??? I dont have a labtop to take to
away games, no phone line at the studio and Little to No money.
Any ideas would be great.
(I have wireless Internet and a cell phone.)

Thank you

Provided the high school will give you a line out audio feed, a cell phone line feed might be possible. Items you will need from your local electronics store.

2 - 1/32" to 1/8" stereo adaptors
2 - 1/8" stereo to stereo RCA cables (red & white)

You will need another cell phone.

On my tests, red is the audio out and white is the audio in. You will need to connect your white plug into their line out, then connect the adapted 1/32" - 1/8" cable into your cellphone. Adapting the 1/32" - 1/8" at the other end, connect the red plug to your mixer. You can adapt the red plug with a RCA to 1/8" mono plug and connect this to your mic input.

In a pinch, I used a similar connection to use a cellphone and a PA system as a large speakerphone, there was some delay's in the conversation though. You may need to attenuate (or pad down) the audio at the originating cellphone end.

I ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU LET THE MAGIC SMOKE OUT OF YOUR EQUIPMENT!!!

I run a Jack like format as well, I think that it is good, and pleases everyone. I also think that if people want to request a song, you can play anything they want (if you have it that is). I have few thousand songs, many of them top 40 hits, so basically could play many different genres that are familiar sounding.
______________

I ran oldies and later CHR before the BMI got on my ass and I shut down. I occationally put it on for test reasons only and sometimes for my own listening enjoyment but other then that nothing.
______________
