Formats: A station playing Classic Rock along with new releases

I am really surprised that we don't have a station that plays Classic Rock artists with their old and new hits. You would think that 107.3 would be the logical choice but they have chosen to play the same 30 songs repeatedly and have given no airplay to New music from:

Rolling Stones
David Gilmour
Bon Jovi
Steely Dan
Paul McCartney

These artists charted well and the audience is definatey monied. How is this demo completely avoided?

Ignored alltogether. Last station that did the format well in these parts was Paxsons 102.5 The Point which in its mid 90s hey day had :

1) Live DJS who knew the music (Van Cleve, Russ Albums, Carson Cooper, Tim Kelly, to name a few)
2) Interspersed ( I refuse to use "mix") classic rock with current offerings, even offering a few hours each weekend to what was best described as "Adult Alternative".
3) Acoustic treats, including artists dropping by with nothing more than a guitar or two....
4) News and Sports with reporters in the same studio as the jocks....not at the airport....even the rare sports broadcast, piping in the UF-FSU football title tilt from N'Awlins.

Numbers and billing were good....alas, nothing good really stays around for long...
