Well while listening to a stream of the AT 40 Casey Kasem countdown from the 80s ,this week June 24, 1987, this show should be on Fresno Radio, AT 40 of the 70s is on KABX.

KWYE 101, I am forced to listen to this station from 8-5 at work everyday, being a top 40 A/C Mainstream there's going to be repeats, but for example I hear Efn'Perfect by Pink every 90 minutes and that song by Train that is 3 years old is played as it was a current, and their claim to be 80, 90, now is not true there are days I do not hear a song fron the 80s.

As far as Missing Formats
Mainstream and Modern rock of the 80s
KFRR should go more Active Rock
AOR
Triple A

I agree with that!!!! 103.3 doesn't quite cover it. I mean signal wise.

KZPO 103.3 is still not operating at full power after their shut down do to "the" snow storm that cripled their Antenna, yes with full power of 280 watts, does not have good signal intensity, Fresno and north, epecially with bleed from 103.1 KAAT, now that the deal with EMF with 94.5 KCGC fell through, that would be a good "repeater" for KZPO, but I read on another thread KZPO is for sale.

KingsRadio would have no need for the 103.1 --- IF they would relocate to a better site with full power - 25 KW + 100 m. 103.3 would then cover from Bakersfield to Fresno - no problem.

I agree with that too!!!! ;D

I think their transmitter is on the side of the hill (east of Exeter near Lindsay) that does not have direct line-of-sight with Fresno and 280 watts doesn't really reach far enough in my opinion. 28,000 watts MAYBE. That station needs the Tim (The Tool Man) Taylor treatment, "MORE POWER, RRRRRRRR." :D :D :D :D

Actually KZPO is line of sight with Fresno, they are at top of Blue Ridge Mountain which is at 5800 ft above sea-level, same place as KJUG 106.7 and former sight KBOS and KMPH TV. A class B1 at that location cannot increase power, and unfortunely they can't move any closer to Fresno because of FCC regulations regarding distances between adjacent stations (KAAT 103.1) and is not eligible to increase to Class B status for the same reason.

Blue Ridge Does have a shadowing problem in the Fresno area from the hills just southeast of Fresno ( Bear Mtn / Eshom Pt ). There is some room to relocate 103.3 CLOSER to Fresno - but that is not the best area. Once KJUG Moves to its new site - you will know what is the best site.

I have to disagee, With the swadowing problem, Eshom and Bear Mt is to far to the east to cause a swadow problem in the Metro Fresno/Clovis area, maybe in Auberry and the Fresno county foothills area, after all KMPH TV 26, KBOS 94.9, and KJUG has had a good signal from there going back to 1971, and currently KTFF TV 61 Telefutura and KNXT TV 49 (EWTN) has no problem either.

I would like to know about this new site you say KJUG is going to.

KJUG moving? Where's the FCC application?

-- KZPO can move to a new HIGHER location at about + 7000 feet -- and an HAAT of 100 meters -- with full 25 KW ERP -- making the coverage equal to a FULL CLASS C station -- in area. ."

7000' AMSL/<100m HAAT? Is this the (phantom) KJUG new site? So KJUG, being a B class, could have 50kw erp?
Or, is this 'new' KJUG site somewhere else? I don't think there is a "new" KJUG site till I see some hardware on the ground (and in the air).
And, KZPO, I don't think there is a move that makes any sense in practicality.

Well said Mofocat, and if there is a site like that "On Paper" it would require building a road and having power to that site, like building highway 168 all the way to Bishop, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Today KATM Modesto totally dominated over KZPO in Fresno, while making deliveries , KATM came in like a local west of 168 and north of 180, tropo conditions, nothing can be done to make KZPO stronger , but tonight at home, in Clovis, with my directional antenna KZPO comes in fine, line of sight is no problem with the right equipment.

KZPO is STILL NOT at full power.

I can't believe it has taken over four months to fix something like this. I would think it would of taken four weeks, especially when it was weather-related. It's not like the transmitter fell down. ???

I remember when 104.1 The Hawk's transmitter (west of the I-5 near Tracy) fell down completely and they erected a brand new transmitter and it took less than six weeks to get it going again. ???

1) Mainstream Top 40 / CHR.

But... it'll probably never happen. The last Top 40 (Y-101) flipped... doesn't really make anybody else eager to try it. And even though KBOS and KSEQ are WAY too urban (really suprised KSEQ tries to be so urban still)... and KWYE and KALZ are WAY too AC... how much more Katy Perry & Lady Gaga does Fresno really need?

2) Rhythmic Oldies.

But... it'll probably never happen. Anybody remember 107.5 The Vibe? (Musiq Soulchild & India Irie don't belong next to Stevie B & Lisa Lisa) And 103.7 The Beat? (The soundtrack from Night at The Roxbury) Is that still on the air or have they put KRZR back on? (please don't answer that... it's not a literal question). While KMGV IS a great station... they lean WAY too hard on 60's and 70's. 80's and early 90's is probably the place to be with attention to NEW JACK SWING R&B and FREESTYLE dance music (we're targeting 25-54 here... not 55-74). But playing La Bouche next to Notorious BIG makes no sense. Hey KFBT... if you're going after an "at work" station... you can't play RAP music during the day. Problem #1 with 103.7.
