Former 99xers are #1!!!

The Toucher and Rich show is the number 1 show in Boston with men 18-44. These guys will be getting syndication soon.

Well congrats are due indeed to Toucher, and Rich! Always good news to hear someone in the biz has found their
niche.

Syndication? maybe. But don't break out the champagne anytime soon. Even if they're syndicated they won't be coming here.

Audiences in Boston, and the northeast are WAY different than down here in Dixie. That's also the reason I'm waiting to see how the locals take to Giant Brian
when his show kicks up on Project 9-6-1. This ain't Philadelphia!

By the way deadman. Is Crash still with Toucher and Rich? Or did they find him in the car with Lindsey Lohan???

Crash is still on the show. I think the show could work in Atlanta.

Maybe in the mornings with a female newscaster who doubles as the PD of an Alternative station in town. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Corrected:

The Toucher and Rich show is the number 1 show in afternoon drive in Boston with men 18-44. I hope that means these guys will be getting syndication soon.

Please don't make statements of fact (e.g., "These guys will be getting") if you have no knowledge that said fact is actually happening.

It's all in your definition of soon. They have a syndication clause in their contract.
Don't be ugly, Ugly.

A syndication clause doesn't mean they'll be syndicated in the next week, month, or year - unless said clause specifies such. If no stations are currently planning to carry them, then a syndication clause by itself is meaningless.

So which definition of "soon" do you mean:

1) Plans are being finalized: "Toucher and Rich" will soon be on the air in New York City.

2) O&A will soon be on the air in Atlanta.

Like I said - if you don't personally know of any plans to put them on air in another market, don't make ambiguous statements that imply such. I'm rooting for them as much as anybody else, but jumping the gun doesn't help anybody.

...and #1 in my book is Jill, who got out of the business altogether. She's got more brains than most in radio.

I think Jill still does weekend shifts from time-to-time.

Jill is still listed on their website, I don't think she's gone...but it does seem like she hasn't been on as much over the summer months.

I can't really see Toucher and Rich coming to Atlanta. Syndicated shows haven't really worked here, but maybe they just haven't been the right ones. They'd likely do better than what 99.7 or 92.9 is doing now in mornings.

I too am interested in seeing how The Giant Show does being from Philly. While The Regular Guys weren't from here, they did know how to appeal to the city and its audience.

Toucher and Rich are using this time to gel as a show. Doing PMD is great because the hours are awesome but the real money is in morning drive. When their contract is up at BCN they'll find a morning gig somewhere. That somewhere could be ATL. No one syndicates afternoon rock shows... O&A did it at WNEW but that was all talk.

Well, there's no reason it shouldn't. Except the Atlanta audience. They don't seem to take to well
to "dem dere yankee shock jocks"! Cindy & Ray pretty much sum up what the Atlanta audience wants.
Conservative, safe, and bland. Mall walker radio.

That probably says more about the M18-44 in Boston than anything I could ever come up with.
Better there than here is all I can add.

I rest my case your honor...

Some syndicated talk shows have done very well here. Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey, and Sean Hannity do very well in this market. So, it's not as if Atlanta radio listeners have an adverse reaction to a show just because the host is not local. It's just that nobody has tried a good syndicated morning show. O&A could work here and so could Moby and maybe Rick & Bubba. They all have a significant audience here and they could at least do fairly well.

But it's the same story with O&A - there's nowhere to put T&R in Atlanta. Neither Clear Channel nor Cumulus would be interested in such, and Dave isn't going to flip to directly target young males (that demographic is already heavily-targetted locally).

I could see T&R getting syndicated on another CBS station - I don't think K-Rock in New York has much in the way of a daily lineup yet. But there's nowhere to put them in Atlanta.

(I'll concede one minor possibility - if Chris Williams is still connected to those guys. But he'd have to get the blessings of the honchos at Clear Channel, and I can't imagine that they'd let him send money to CBS. And that's still only if he would want to bring them here - he might not be interested at all.)

Great fantasy discussion going here. I have determined this board is often like fantasy football. We should start a league. If one of your hare-brained ideas comes true you win the pot.

The only chance T & R have of coming to Atlanta is on Dave and only if it undergoes a format change. they are not coming to Project or back to 99x at least not until their contract expires. Right now they are BCN's back-up insurance policy for O & A.

I just don't see syndication for a show that is barely a year-old.

True. Atlanta talk radio does represent its audience well. Old, conservative and humorless.

Yeah, there's really not much supply (nor demand outside this board) for juvenile, morally bankrupt and braindead.

Ah, the morally bankrupt chestnut. Which means what exactly?
