Former Buffalo sportscaster Bill Mazer dies

God bless Bill

This man was ahead of his time and always had great things to say about Buffalo when he went on to his amazing career in NYC.

I am amazed that others who frequent this site haven't commented on how very knowledgeable and talented he was.

I can still recall how he used to recreate Bison away games on WGR 55 by reading the tele typed play by play results and using sound effects to make it sound like he was really doing the away game from the scene.

Do you remember when he did Sports Reel on channel 2. This was back in the day when there was a fifteen minute newscast at eleven followed by the five minute Atlantic weatherman which was of course followed by Bill's ten minute sports show.
Who needed color tv or HD when you had Bill.......................................

To say that he will be missed is an understatement.
