former End jock on 923X

I was in my car driving on sunday evening a little after 5:00 and heard a familiar voice. It was Bull. He said what the last song was and said something like "this is the Bull show". So is Bull now a perminent weekend jock on 923X or was this a temporary thing? I just went to the 923X website and there was no mention of Bull on the jox page.

Was "smells like the end weekend" an audition for some of the old end jocks? Could we be seeing more end jocks on 923X? I guess we'll have to stay tuned to find out.

He was on during Verlane's usual shift and Verlane was on during Fenix's shift. Maybe Kim finally realized how horrible Fenix was and fired him. Now if she can only do the same with Iggy.

Also i've noticed that when the dj's speak they never say 923X Cleveland's Xtreme Radio all they say is 923X. Maybe they are slowly but surely getting the Xtreme out of their name.

The only time I've heard the words "Cleveland's Extreme Radio" have been in Igor's old bumpers....it seems as if they've moved on. They are mixing in a lot more obscure 90's stuff now too. I heard "Molly" by Sponge the other day, also "Believe" by Lenny Kravitz. They've also started playing Bad Religion. Cool stuff. The DJs are still mediocore at best. Iggy was screaming into the mic the other night.....didn't really sound to good. The commercial breaks are too long as well IMO. The Buzzard's shorter commercial breaks really make a difference.

On a different note....92.3 makes a big deal about the whole HD thing. But to me their signal actualy sounds a bit muddier than WMMS'. Is HD all its cracked up to be?
______________

You need an HD receiver to get the HD signal. From what I hear, it sounds great. Will make no difference on regular analog radio.

Looks like someone is starting to notice the difference with CC's Less Is More initative.

Well the difference is very noticeable. WMMS usually breaks for no longer than 3 minutes. When they go to commercial I start punching buttons and by the time I make it back to WMMS they are already back into the rock. Both Xtreme and WNCX have breaks that seem to go on FOREVER. I've never timed them but I'd say they are at least 6-7 minutes long. LIM makes a difference in my listening habits.
______________

Agreed. I've got a friend who parodies NCX's "You're in the middle of a long sweep of classic rock and roll" sounders by saying, "You're in the middle of another long sweep of commercials on WNCX." People notice.

I must admit LIM is working with me as well. It's the same with me also, commercial comes on WMMS, I start flipping through stations, come back and a song is playing. As far as WNCX goes, I wouldn't be surprised if some of their breaks are 8-10 minutes. The energizer bunny should be the offical mascot of NCX, their commercial breaks just keep going and going and going and going... (I know it's cheesy, but I just had to do it)

Not to break up the Less is More party, but it may be working on the music FMs (and I applaud that), but have you tried to listen to WTAM in PM drive? There's still a good amount of commercial time in a row--especially after the news.
