FORMER FNX DJ JIM RYAN HEARD DOING NEWS ON 96.9

No longer spinning the alternative hits he obviously loved on FNX, but I heard Big Jim delivering the news breaks in the evening on FM Talk.

Maybe he's with Metro news service. Who knows, he could pop up on RKO too if they're
still subscribing.
I remember a few years back when Salem had "Boston's Conservative Talk" on 1150, and they
ran Hannity. You would hear the same newscaster on 1150 that a few minutes ago had been
on 680.

Jim Ryan and Big Jim are two different people. One was a weekender who recently did nights at FNX, and the other was an afternoon guy on FNX back in the Sandbox era. Big Jim is over at the Sports Hub now I believe. Good for Jim Ryan finding another local gig so quickly, even if it appears to be part-time.

Former FNX weekender, Jim Ryan worked at Metro for years doing afternoon news and traffic for various Metro clients. He started out doing overnight traff for BZ. He left Metro a few years ago during a buyout phase when Metro, then owned by Westwood One, laid off some staff members. He is back at Metro, now owned by Clear Channel. Mostly all of people you hear doing news and traffic on TKK are Metro employees.
I know Hank Morse is employed by Greater Media. I am not sure what the arraingement is with the afternoon news person who used to be a DJ at ZLX and worked weekends for Metro recently.

Looks like he's moved on from the supposed WFNX.com deal...

I remember back in '08 or so I'd hear him on 92.5 The River doing traffic for Metro and then the next day (Saturday) hearing him part time on FNX..

Good to know he's got another gig lined up already.

Used to be anyone who got gassed ended up either at Metro/Shadow or running around with a real estate saleperson's license (and no listings). Wonder what the people who don't hook on at Metro are doing these days with real estate in the Sir Thomas.
