I used to drive with my iPod, but what a hassle! I have to set it up each time, program, download and just mess with it, and I'm usually too busy or tired for that. I know about what kind of music or talk I want, based on my mood at the time, so I just press a button on the XM. It's so much easier, and there are lots of choices. I also know what local stations I want to listen to, and it is similarly convenient to just press a button on my FM or AM. The XM also gives me the best new music, so I don't have to rely on word-of-mouth or some other means and miss a lot that way. Am I lazy?

no your just what major media giants haven't got a clue about.. that people are willing to even pay tfor stuff if the would actually take the time to give them what they wanted.. but most of them are too arrogant to believe that all u have to do is ask the listener and they'd tell u..

for example ( and not even using the lehigh valley yet) when i lived in florida.. they used to have this top 5 at 5 and it was all voted by the listeners... and this one song (skydiver... by who i can't for the life of me remember...) won for like several weeks in a row... then they retired it from the voting caus it demolished everything for so long they wanted to give something else a chance.. which i can see.... however.. a month later.. i called in to request it.. and they said they would no longer play it... hmmm.. something that popular.. that listeners requested so much so that u had to retire it from daily voting.. and now u won't play it at all... ????? genius move on managements part don't u think???

now for the lehigh valley... the peoples choice awards.... who did they select as top morning show for several years in a row???? hmmm let me guess??? Ken Matthews??? hmmm how bout that.. so what does genius clear channel management do??? fire him!!! ( and notice the category was removed from the peoples choice awards altogether??? smell a conspiracy or is that just taco bell again??)

ZZO... will play sound garden.. and audioslave.. but won't play Rage Against the Machine... am i missing something???

Hawk.. was nice change of pace when it started.. but they can't keep a loyal morning show to save thier life.. and u can almost set your clock by what they play its so much of the same stuff every day.

WLEV.... can u fire yourself from a morning show if u consistently stink up the ratings but run the place????

in general.. the lehigh valley and corporate radio lacks imagination... but what they lack there.. they make up in insecurity and god complexes..

so when i'm in the car.. i'll listen to my cd's or philly stations.. ( they still actually have some talent on thier stations) or when i'm at home i'll listen to sirius.. ( i wonder how much more money it takes from big radio filling the pockets of politicians to block that merger huh?? ) because at least i can find what I want to listen too.. not what some suit who has no clue who the listener even is wants to shove down my face in the lehigh valley.

that is a good point, ipods don't give much convenience because of all the downloading, plus there's no connection to news, sports, new music or what's happening now.
