"Condolences to family and friends of former NEW YORK ISLANDERS radio voice and WGBB-A/LONG ISLAND PD and GM BOB LAWRENCE, who died FRIDAY (6/12) at 70, according to SOUTH JERSEY's COURIER POST.
LAWRENCE (real name ROBERT LINDSTROM) called ISLANDER games, first as analyst alongside JOHN STERLING (now the voice of the NEW YORK YANKEES), then as play-by-play man with JEAN POTVIN, during the ISLES' STANLEY CUP championship years of the 1970's."
I have his call from the first Cup in 1980. He did a very good job calling the games. My condolences to his family.
