Former KFYI/KT'R DJ Our Next MAYOR?

Correct me if I err Doc but when is a radio talker considered a DJ?

I thought DJ's, by definition, had to play music (or some sort of recording other than political sound bites).

You are probably correct on the YIKES! There was only one backhanded compliment directed toward the Hon. Mr. Woods. The remainder would support a nice bed of roses. ;D

Correct. Though if he liked the rejoiner music, Grant would occasionally play the whole song (especially Al Green records).

Advantage Dr. Akbar on a technicality.

I'd sooner gargle with plutonium razor blades than vote for that pompous blowhard moron.

Grant Woods is like a vampire...keeps coming back to life.

When was he on KFYI and KTAR?

A Clancy Woods fav, Woods did PMD on KFWhyEye 9~Ten prior to them moving to 5~Fifty (the Chickboss didn't invite him to be part of the new lineup). But you can't keep a lawyer from gumming up things, so he appeared as a regular Friday fixture on KT'R 6~Twenty. Nurse Jeff and I thought for sure we'd win a "Woodie" from the Grantster, but guess we just weren't goofy enough to earn special recognition! If he runs for Mayor Philiberto's seat, we'll probably give him a "Skippy" award for being most like another photohound politico who went on to bigger and better things. (although we're not sure what they were ??? )

Doc's got it backwards...but hey, it's been 12 years! Grant did a weekly show on KTAR in '98 and '99. It began while he was still Arizona Attorney General. His term in office ended in January, 1999. Grant moved to KFYI in afternoon drive from summer '99 until fall 2000, the move to 550 and Chickboss (as Doc notes). Since then, there have been occasional fill-ins at KTAR.

A tip of the fez to Professor Hagerty! I knew I shouldn't have consumed some of those mushrooms Nurse Jeff is growing behind the Media Hut. Guess this makes me eligible to receive a "Woody" from the next Mayor of Los Phoenix!

Actually.... you CAN put audio / verbal talk onto cd then play the disc as a radio jock, so technically, if you're a jock dealing with discs in any way, I guess that gives you the legal right to consider it "dj'ing".

Damn it you beat me to it.

And there you have it, proof positive that talk stations have DJ's. Our fezes are off to KDM 7000 (isn't that the new Audi?)
