Former KIIS-FM GM Wally Clark Deceased at 84

Wally Clark was one of the members of the KIIS-FM management who made Rick Dees a legend on the LA Airwaves and was also known for having Howard Stern at WWWW Detroit.

Wally was one of the few GMs who understood the importance of a promotion budget. While many managers see that as the first place to cut, Wally believed that one-third of the station’s overall budget should be promotion—-meaning that, as the station and its budget grew, so would the money available for promotion.

That’s why there were KIIS-FM ads on the sides of buses for years, and how Dees could give away a Porsche 944 with $25,000 in the glovebox every Friday for a year or more.
