Former KODJ Jock Rich Fields Out At The Price Is Right

Used to be that Off Camera Announcers were pretty much guys from radio, but that trend seems to be over in favor of stand up comics. It's been happening more and more and now at The Price is Right. According to Don Barrett announcer Rich Fields has been let go in favor of an improv comic. Fields confirmed that he has accepted a position as the staff meteorologist at CBS flagship stations KCBS and KCAL. So at least he has a job. Si8nce most shows already employ warm-up comedians this looks like they're just saving some cash by combining the two jobs.
 
Too bad. He was a bit of a puker, but maybe that's what they wanted. Looks and sounds good on TV. He says "folks" a lot. That's gotta stop.
 
He was pucking the other night on Kearth, what was Mr. Kaye thinking?
