Former Magic PD Shown the Door at CBS/Denver

I'll second that! I've known him personally for about 20 years and he's a class guy with a wealth of programming knowledge. Certainly one of the best programmers in the business! I wish him all the best as he seeks his next opportunity.

Keith is good people. Never worked for him, but had a chance to meet him when I worked at WSOC & Star 104.7. As we all know, Magic 96.1 was an Oldies monster under his direction.

After talking with him one day, I realized he "got it" with regards to the Oldies format as few others did.

I'm surprised CBS didn't send him to Orlando to help launch their new Classic Hits outlet (Sunny 105.9.)

Don't worry. He won't be out for long.

I certainly was shocked. If you review the latest ratings market by market, Keith's stations were all up, except for K-Earth in LA.

Which may be the best sounding oldies station in the country.

105.9 in Orlando is one of the first places I ever heard "classic hits" (in Myrtle Beach--imagine that!). I don't know if it was before WXLY was doing the same thing in Charleston, S.C. I heard WXLY's classic hits back in 1987 when I was listening to see if what is now My 102.5 in Greenville, S.C. was on the air yet.
