Condolences to family and friends of longtime WASHINGTON-based radio newsman DAN SCANLAN, who died over the weekend of a heart attack at 74, according to his current employer WESTWOODONE.
SCANLAN worked over the years at NBC NEWS RADIO, AP RADIO, MUTUAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM, and WINS-A/NEW YORK. He had retired but continued contributing as an anchor and news writer for WESTWOODONE and NBC NEWS RADIO.
WESTWOODONE EVP News and Talk BART TESSLER said, “DAN was the epitome of a professional newsman, the best story teller with the best sound on and off the air, and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with DAN's family.”
