Australia's wealthiest men, Kerry Packer, has died at the age of 68.
His connection to broadcasting, and the reason I have posted this news on the Australia board, is that he was the owner of the Nine television network.

This article from the Nine website includes memories of Packer from longtime Nine news anchor Ray Martin.

Packer may have been to Australia what David Sarnoff, Bill Paley, Leonard Goldenson and more recently, Rupert Murdoch, have been to the United States---very wealthy men who, from all accounts, had quite a "passion" for television (and in the case of Sarnoff and Paley, radio before that).
