former radio talk show host missing

KOMO reported Friday that former KIRO talk show host Mike Webb hasn't been seen or heard from since mid April. He was convicted of insurance fraud earlier this year but only received community service as punishment. Unemployable, unstable.... I hesitate to think how this turns out.
 
Well let's just hope he only moved out of the area and maybe is out of the business.

There was another thread about Webb awhile back. I worked with him. He is a decent guy underneath all the problems. I sincerely hope he is OK.
 
I don't think he's been officially reported missing. People DO go away on vacation, you know. However, a lot of news people were certain that the body found under the Ravenna bridge was his a few days ago.
 
I could not see anything about this on any news site. Info? Links?

Or...maybe 'The Street' might be...Mike Webb.

I did some web surfing today to try and find additional information. Ran into a few blogs that seem to be mostly speculation. The Seattle media don't seem to be covering it, (not sure about that KOMO story, there is nothing on their website). His sister was quoted in a blog that he is missing from his apartment, and didn't take essentials with him. Someone above also speculated that a body found in North Seattle's Ravenna Park could be Webb's, but the last I heard SPD was calling that death a homicide. So while I hope for the best, it remains to be seen how this story will play out.
 
I suspect you're not finding much because there are no details other than those disclosed...the sister is concerned because they have alledgedly been out of touch for over a month. KIRO probably skiddish about carrying it at all until more facts surface (because of their involvement in Webb's past, dismissal, etc.). KOMO aired only the matter relating to the sister reporting the man missing (and presumably she DID file formal paperwork since police were asked to open the apartment to investigate).

Rest of speculation I've seen on this thread is irresponsible. I think we all have some sort of assumptions ... and if folks feel compelled to disclose those assumptions I'd really like to see those elements identified as opinon and speculation.

There are some items shared on blatherwatch that concern me (if they are true). Specifically that Webb's computer continues to be accessed. The posters there claim it's hacking, but I think otherwise ... as I am highly suspicious that it's an area he could leave untouched should he voluntarily leave his own place and try to make it look suspicious. I can EASILY see that he would continue to use that computer as a tool, if nothing else other than to try to embellish the "I've gone missing" theory. If I'm right, it means a good outcome for Mike's health but a lousy outcome for his legal challenges. If I'm wrong, I apologize for doubting the man ... but he's given us a lot of history that would cause us to BECOME skeptical.

Well said. The continued "reporting" of the former KNHC staffer being dead by a certain RI member was repulsive (not to mention RI allowing it to go on).

Just assuming a body found and presuming it to be a specific person (radio person or not) is immensely irresponsible.

The cops MIGHT (and that's speculation) have some undisclosed facts on this and have decided to take a course of action on this. We don't know his cell phone records, bank deposits/withdrawls, credit card action. But the cops know those things, and if there's reason to believe he's just hiding, the cops in any jurisdiction have better things to worry about.
 
Hey - if that Issaquah runner can slip, knock himself out for 3 days (that was some kinda slip) and walk home unscathed - then there is bound to be a legit story for Mr. Webb's apparent disappearance.
 
Hiding in plain sight... I don't get what all the mystery is about ??? People with legal issues get on planes, trains, and buses every single day and just slip away into a new life in some other location insulating themselves from their past...
 
There is a new story up on kirotv.com today. However, not much new to report.
 
Something tells me this may become a "Dateline" story at some point. Unfortunately, most of those shows have ugly endings.
 
Yes, this story is now becoming quite mainstream. Two major media outlets have covered within 48hours. Mike, if you are still out there, please put this to an end. If not, we are going to imagine the worst. And believe me, nobody wants that, even imagined. Mike, you are someone who meant a lot to a lot of people....please recognize that and try to make it right again.

WOW! Landlord found badly decomposed body in the home rented by Mike Webb.

Just aired on the 6p KOMO TV news. Police haven't identified the body.
 
No, this certainly does not look good. But let's alteast wait for i.d. Sad story all around.
 
KING 5 News also reporting that it appears as though this maybe his body behind the rental house Mike had....sounds like they're not sure if the body just got missed in previous searches, or if perhaps someone dumped the body behind the house.
