Former RI radio host asks to be spared jail time

I don't see that a prison sentence will serve any purpose. I'm not implying that because she was a radio personality she should get special treatment, but neither should she suffer more than the others in this case. Because of the nature of her job, she will suffer more. She probably won't get another radio job. The others in this case will do the time, make restitution, or whatever then return to their lucrative lives as if nothing happened. Tanya won't, and as guilty as she is, I think it's unfair that jail time is added to the negative permanent effect on her life this is going to have. Again, I'm not excusing her. Being in radio shouldn't make her special in this case, but neither should it damn her.

Why? Sure, Buddy was Mayor before his first radio gig. He went to jail, disgraced, then he got a radio gig. That's forgiveness right there. He was Mayor again, went to jail AGAIN, then got ANOTHER radio gig! That's forgiveness x 2. If you've got talent and the people love you, you'll bounce back.

If you don't like that one, how about this one: Rebecca Morse-Whitten. Mornings on B101, got drunk like no other and was charged with a hit and run, and went on to work at Lite Rock 105 and mornings in New London on Soft Rock 106.5. Jail means nothing, if Lori's talented, she'll get another gig.

Six months and 5 years probation would be a fair sentence. Her Lawyer does make a good point though about Citadel (Providence) does hire Felons (a.k.a) Buddy.I think she should be offered her position back after timed served. What's good for the Goose is good for the buddy.
